DFW’s most expensive construction project underway readies to open its doors

The most expensive construction project underway in North Texas is months away from opening its doors to the public.

The Union Dallas, a $350 million mixed-use development between Uptown and American Airlines Center, will be completed early next year after almost three years of construction.

Owned by Phoenix-based RED Development, the project includes 1.2 million square feet of office, residential and retail space. It was designed by HKS, Inc. and built by DPR Construction.

“We really are the ‘union’ of this neighborhood,” said Mike Ebert, managing partner for RED Development. “We think The Union is providing some options that are currently not in Uptown today.”

Perhaps the most prominent offering the massive development will bring to the area is the full-scale grocery store that will sit on the corner of Field Street and Ashland Street.
